Digital NEEDLE SENSOR 4022 with Needle Position Display
The NEEDLE SENSOR 4022 monitors contact-free the needle hooks on single, fine rib, jacquard and interlock circular knitting machines. It stops the machine immediately when a needle hook or butt has broken. Depending on the type of knitting and the machine, the NEEDLE SENSOR usually consists of one or two optical heads and one control unit 4022.
- Machine stops immediately once defective needles have been recognised
- Hand-held terminal 8024 as setting and adjustment aid
Features
- Machine stops immediately once defective needles have been recognised
- 4-digit display for quick localisation of the defective needle
- Colour-coded LED status display for each optical head
- Hand-held terminal 8024 as setting and adjustment aid
Operation
The optical head projects a narrow spot of light onto the passing needle hooks, which reflect a part of the light. These light pulses are fed to the control unit via fibre-optic cable. The control unit automatically adapts to the needle sequence corresponding to the machine speed and gauge of the needles. If a pulse is not received due to needle breakage, the machine control is triggered to stop. Simultaneously with the stop signal, a needle counter begins to work. It indicates the number of needles running past until the actual machine standstill. This simplifies locating and replacing the defective needles. Needles, which are missing to produce separating rows or to create patterns are masked out. As additional feature against false stops, the number of fault repetitions before stopping the machine is adjustable.
